Juvenilia (solution)

Juvenilia (solution)

back to puzzle

This puzzle is about John Perry Barlow's 25 Principles of Adult Behavior (which he wrote when he turned 30). (Also recall that Barlow had a professional career as a songwriter!)

We present 22 song clips, each of which has lyrics that on their face seem to violate, or refer to someone's violation of, a different one of Barlow's 25 principles.

The clips are presented in alphabetical order by performer for confirmation. The Barlow principle violated by the clip should be used as a letter (A = 1, B = 2, C = 3).

Don't ever change,
You know what I mean.

violates Barlow #13 ("Never lie to anyone for any reason. (Lies of omission are sometimes exempt.)") โ†’ letter M.

These letters can then be plugged in to the diagram at the bottom to form the clue

This lyric is completed by replacing the X with the word PROPHET.
